About Us
Shidaa: it means thanksgiving in the Ga language in West Africa.
The Shidaa Foundation is assembled with the purpose of giving hope and aspiration to the children among vulnerable communities. Despite of the learning advancements and policy developments, there is deprivation of basic education. 48% of children worldwide are still learning poor.
Education is the basic human right; hence, the Shidaa Foundation is here to fight the geographic, economic and cultural barriers in the way of equality for literacy.
Our mission:
- To meet the challenges for right to education by erasing learning inequality and learning poverty.
- To advance education by providing publicly available scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of financial assistance to students attending college and for post-secondary education.
- To relieve poverty by providing school supplies such as books, pencils, and school equipment to elementary school students in Canada and Ghana, West Africa.
- To undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the above mentioned charitable purposes.
